Android 5.0 to arrive this Autumn
18 May 2012 – If you are one of the lucky few to have had Ice Cream Sandwich on their devices already while most others still manage with Gingerbread, you will be pleased to know that Google will be serving up the Jelly Bean this fall.
According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, Google’s strategy is to have select manufacturers early access to new releases, but will also sell the resulting devices unlocked directly to consumers. At least five such manufacturers will be getting this privilege.
Google is planning to sell these devices online and contract-free directly to consumers in the U.S., Europe, and Asia, although retailers will be involved as well, the report suggests.
