Samsung announced price for Galaxy Tab 2 series


19 June 2012 – Samsung has just announced the price for their Galaxy Tab 2 tablets. The 7.0-inch will be priced at RM 1,299 while the 10.1-inch will be priced at RM 1,499.


Both models share the same features. They both support 1GHz dual-core processor running on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). They have the same 3-megapixel rear camera and VGA for front-facing camera. Both also have 16GB internal storage and support microSD slot up to 32GB.


Here are the few differences between these two models. The 7.0-inch weighs 345grams while the 10.1-inch weighs 588grams. The 7.0-inch has a display of 1024x600 pixels while the 10.1-inch has a display of 1280x800 pixels. Despite the higher figures, the 7.0-inch is offering a higher pixel density compared to the 10.1-inch (~170ppi vs ~149ppi). Nonetheless, the 10.1-inch has a bigger capacity battery of Li-ion 7,000mAh compared to the 7.0-inch with Li-ion 4,000-mAh.


As for the usage, Samsung said that "the Samsung GALAXY Tab 2 (7.0) is the ideal personal on-the-go device; while the larger Samsung GALAXY Tab 2 (10.1) is well-suited for home and family use."
