Samsung Galaxy S III comes with a new design and a faster processor

In a fabulous event which took place in London earlier this week, Samsung unveiled one of the most expected smartphone of the year: Galaxy S III.

It’s loaded to the gills with all of Samsung’s goodies and it’s about as state of the art as you can get from this company. So far fans are practically knocking each other over for these phones and for good reason. First there was so much hype that people almost got to thinking the Galaxy S III could alter the course of the Earth.

Well to keep matters in perspective, the design of the Galaxy S III is just what the doctor ordered. It’s thin and sleek and brushed plastic. You can get it in the colors of Marble White or Pebble Blue.

You’ll see it has dimensions of 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6mm and a 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED screen. A screen the fans say is just astonishing in color and performance. Actually it looks like a small pad. Just the screen alone is worth buying the Galaxy S III.

The Galaxy S III has some expert handling though-smooth and fits the palm just nicely. The company has refurbished it’s Touchwiz overlay technology for this new smartphone and obviously went out of their way to simplify things. When you’ll start to use the device you’ll find many new features designed for being easy on the eyes as well as easy on the fingers:

• Smart stay allows the screen to stay awake as long as the user is looking at the phone.
• Direct call allows you to call a person(while messaging) by lifting the phone and place it to your ear.
• Smart alert lets you know when you have messages or missed calls by vibrating several times.
• S Voice is Samsung’s respond to Siri. By using your voice you can command S Voice app to do stuff for you.
• S Beam  take advantage of the NFC chip to transfer music, pictures, videos and other files between two Galaxy S III devices by placing the smartphones back-to-back.
• Buddy Photo Share automatically share photos with the persons that are recognized by the smartphone.

This beatiful smartphone is powered by the 1.4 GHz Exynos CPU and the latest version of Android – Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4. On the back of the phone there’s an 8 megapixel camera, while on the front thre an 1.9 megapixel camera which is capable of shooting 720 p videos.

Besides this, the phone will be shipped in three different storage versions (16/32/64 GBs) and in some regions will support LTE networks. It will also feature Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with Glonass reception, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, NFC, microUSB. By removing the back, case you will have access to the 2,100 mAh battery, microSIM and microSD slots.

Even if now there are a lot of phones that can compete with Samsung Galaxy S III(like HTC One X or iPhone 4S), the Korean company has now the lead and the benchmarks are on their side. The competitors have to rethink a little their strategies and maybe do what Nokia is doing, not step in this multi-core processor game, and optimize their OS.
